A place to GROW YOUR FAITH...

...as we worship together

At St. Mark you are welcome just the way you are.  Dress up or dress down.

Be yourself.

Be comfortable.

Come with your doubts and your questions.  We're all in this walk of faith together. Come expecting God to meet you as we worship together.

You can expect ...

A warm greeting.
Inspiring music.
A message of grace and hope in Jesus.

Everyone is welcome, no matter your background.

Each Sunday service will have a time of confession and absolution, readings from the Bible, a message from the pastor, prayers, and Holy Communion, open to all.

Our Sunday worship begins at 10:30 and lasts between 60-90  minutes with organ- or piano-led  contemporary and traditional hymns that have been popular to Christians over the years.

...as we study God's Word

We believe that growing in faith means growing in our understanding of God's word, the Bible.  We provide many and varied Bible study opportunities for all ages and stages.

...as we serve like Jesus

We have many opportunities for you to both connect and serve, both in the church and outside of the church. We'd love to help you follow your passion and find your purpose.

Monthly we...

  • Prepare a meal for 60 women and children at the Clare House Shelter
  • Make sandwiches for Brother Francis Shelter
  • Serve lunch at the Downtown Soup Kitchen

We give generously to Lutheran Social Services, Anchorage Gospel Mission, AFACT, Shishmaref Lutheran Mission, Table of Grace in Bethel, and to the wider church through the Alaska Synod of the ELCA.

Annually we provide Easter Baskets and Christmas Stockings for LSSA, the Mitten Tree for local school children, and reach out into our community on God's Work Our Hands Day.

Globally we send mission teams to Mexico each year and to the village of Wales, AK and we support mission work in Honduras, Indonesia, Liberia, and  the Sudan.

Want to get involved?  Just let us know where your interest and passions are leading you and we'll help you find just the perfect place to serve.

...as we pray for one another and advocate for peace and justice

Prayer is the fuel for all of our ministry and mission goals.  Advocacy is what we are called to do for the voiceless and powerless in our community, nation and world.   We support one another in prayer and advocate for peace and justice in the world around us.
